SuccessTeam

We had the first meeting of our SuccessTeam on Saturday morning.

The original idea was sparked by a post on Kara Lennox's blog about her Wishcraft group. I emailed and asked about it. Apparently she meets with a group to discuss their goals based on Barbara Sher's book, WishCraft. Hmm, sounded like something I'd like to be a part of. I googled Wishcraft and Barbara Sher and found a website based on another book she'd written called TeamWorks. It's out of print but our library had an old copy. I liked the ideas in the book but they didn't quite meet my needs.

I needed someone to be accountable to. Other people to bounce ideas off of and get support and feedback. So, I decided to create my own SuccessTeam. The common denominator is writing goals so I asked on my chapter goals loop if anyone would be interested in joining me. However, since we're well rounded individuals with full lives and other goals, we could all state whatever other goals we wanted to accomplish this year.

I had three people respond. So our group now has four people and we spent a very productive Saturday morning outlining our goals and what specific action steps we would take in the next two weeks to accomplish them. Everyone was very supportive and the different approaches and ideas were coming fast and furious. I have two goals I put out there - writing and healthy living. The other participants were on board for both of those and each of the other three had one or two more goals to pursue.

I left feeling positive and motivated.

Today I completed 21 pgs of rewrites. Even with the bad weather, school closure and driving my oldest daughter all around town for various things I stuck to my goal.

Wow, great job on the rewrites, Anne! It's challenging to stay on task when the kids are home, or at least that's how I find it.

But I'm rolling along on my goals too. I definitely feel more focused on what I'm supposed to be doing, and having it broken into chunks help me not feel so overwhelmed.

Yay for you, Anne! My Wishcraft group has brought so much to my life, and I hope your SuccessTeam does the same for you.

Good luck!

Thanks for the well wishes Kara - and the original spark.

Way to go on the rewrites. I had a great time at the mtg on Saturday. I'm looking forward to the next one and in the meantime, I'm whittling away at my goals...

Whoohoo! What a cool idea. Nothing like a few friends to put your feet to the fire and keep you motivated. Congrats on your rewrites. I think they take longer and are harder to do that the original draft. That makes your progress so much more impressive.
