Story Boarding

I'm taking a week long class on Storyboarding from Shelley Bradley. It's a lot of work to cover in a week when it's a brand new story. I like the technique though, so far.

I didn't realize how little I knew about the story until I started trying to fill in the Conflict Grid. As usual I have a nice intricate plot, which is good thing for an RS, but my people were a mystery. So last night, I completed most of the story grid and I'm going to sit down in a minute and catch up with the rest. I'll even get to put my colorful stickies on my foam board.

I'm feeling a lot better about my short contemp, Front Page Affair. Completed lots of work that needs to be keyed into the computer and cleaned up. I may use the storyboard to plot out the rest of the story.

In other news I lost a battle with the ant population. Yesterday morning I was up early because I had a business appointment. When I went to the bathroom it was covered in ants. Yuck. I got my arsenal of killer ant stuff out and realized I was all out. Quick shower, to the store for more, back home to sprinkle and spray before I left. Found more this morning so I had to do it all over again. I hate to have the outside sprayed around the foundation, which I hear works really well, because of the toxic nature. Being on a well, I try to keep anything harsh off my lawn. And it's not like the ants are harmful, just annoying.

I hate ants! We had some this year too, but they seem to have died off or moved. We used peanut butter ant traps. They apparently like the peanut butter and carry it back to the nest. Gets them all. :)

This is a particularly bad year for ants. I use the gray powder plus the stuff in the little red bottles. The ant traps didn't work for us.

Glad to hear the writing is going well. Can't wait to read what happens next!

Looking forward to getting back from vacation and into the swing of things with my writing.
