Serious Business

I ordered a Laptop from Dell last week and I've been obsessively checking my order online. The ship date was estimated for next week. Aak! I needed it to start NaNo.

I want to get in the habit of writing the first draft on the computer but since I write away from home and I have to fight with my kids in the evening for the one desk top we have, it hasn't worked out.

I checked this morning and it's been shipped! A whole week early.

It's red. Why? Just because it is so totally NOT what an accountant would use.

Now, I have absolutely no excuses not to achieve my goals and self-imposed deadlines.

I have to justify my purchase - not like that stationary bicycle, or the bread maker ...or the gym membership.

Congratulations on the new laptop! And I think red is a great choice. It's a stimulating color -- exactly what you need for NaNo.

I hear you on the sharing of the computer. I'm always competing for ours with my family. It's a total pain!

As for justifying the cost? Think of it as a necessary business expense. And you'll get the money back with that first sale! :-)

Woohoo on the laptop! My husband bought me one for my 30th birthday. He told me I had to write a book that would sell on it. I started The Bond That Ties Us the next day.

It can happen for you too!
