NaNoWrimo starts on November 1st. There's something very appealing about writing 50,000 words on a new project in one month. I get to leave the story I'm struggling with behind and embark on a whole new adventure.
But is that smart?
I set my course of action at the beginning of this year. Writing three short contemporaries for Desire. While waiting for a response from Harl/Sil, which can add up to months and months, I would work on a Single Title Romantic Suspense. Even enter the first chapter in the Daphne in 2008.
If I stop writing on the Desire and plunge into the S, will I just end up with two unfinished MS in complete disarray?
Hmmm. I think I just made up my mind.
Much as I want an excuse to leave Front Page Affair behind, I think I better stick to my guns. I wrote my 5 pgs this morning and I think I have some ideas to enliven the last two scenes which were sadly lacking any drama.

Sounds like the right decision for you, Anne. While NaNo is great, sometimes the timing sucks. Maybe do it unofficially and work on your current book. No harm in that!
Probably a good decision. That's why I didn't do Nano last year. I was in the middle of something else and didn't want to break my momentum. Luckily this year, I'll be finishing Brimstone in the nick of time. Which is good, because I really want to do Nano!
You're right -- no sense spreading yourself too thin. There's always next year.
If all goes as planned for the rest of this month, I should be ready to start a new story by then. Then once NaNo is over, I'll be ready to tackle revisions on my current story.
