We had our end of year party for our local RWA group. Great company, great food - too much dessert. What more could you want?
I came home with gift certificates for Chapters and a writing book by Janet Evanovich. Lucky me.
I have about 13,000 words left to write for NaNo and I'm thinking hard about the story. I need some seriously, intense and fun scenes to write this week. So far I have the following:
the first love scene
the OMG, the killer's chasing us scene
the OMG, the killer has captured the heroine scene
the hero tries to rescue the heroine scene but the heroine saves herself. (because she's a kick a** heroine and doesn't need no stink'n man to save her.)
then the hero and heroine decide the future scene - because even though she doesn't need no stink'n hero he sure is nice (and hot) to have around.
Is that 13,000 words?
We're doing another write-in on Wednesday night so I'll plan on 3,000 words then, but really I have to write that every day.
I have to get started on the Christmas shopping and my oldest daughter needs a Christmas dress for several parties. She could go herself or with a girlfriend to pick it out but it's one of those moments I like to grab and savor. She'll be eighteen in less than two months and I realize she's not my little girl anymore and sometimes I just want to stop time. Sniff, Sniff.

Ooh, your book sounds awesome! I definitely think you can get 13,000words (or more) out of those scenes.
Glad you like the book. And I think it's neat how you were the one to end up with it since you like the Plum series.
Good luck dress shopping. I know what you mean. I find myself getting teary-eyed when I think how old my kids are. Where'd the time go??
Awww, she's all grown up. But at least you can pat yourself on the back at a job well done.
And I think all those scenes sound great! Should definitely get you your 13,000 words.

I try not to think about how fast my kids are growing. It scares me.
