School's Out

Why are high schoolers allowed out of school before the end of June? Why do exams start on the 17th? I wasn't prepared for this.

So far this morning, I've listened to

"Can I have the car, a friend needs to go shopping"
"Can you help me find my belt. Did you wear it? "( she's a size 2 so I'd have to wear it around my arm)
"Are my black pants clean?"
"Is my gray top in the dryer?"
"There's something wrong with my computer, can you fix it?"
"Can you hem my dress?"
"There's no food. When are you getting groceries?"
"Oh no, don't step in that." to younger sister.

None of this made me move away from my desk until lunch time. When I walked into the kitchen I found the remains of about three different meals that my kids have so far chowed down on today.

Dear lord, when will it be September?

I sympathize - notice I didn't say empathize because I don't have kids therefore don't have summer disruptions. But for your misery, just think of the teachers that are smiling broadly right about now!!

LOL I may regret this come July, but I'm glad school is almost over. Hopefully things will be less hectic around here then. Some of this probably has to do with it being a graduation year, though. Plus all the extra-curricular stuff they're finishing up.

Anyway, hang in there -- summers go by fast and September will be here in a blink. :)

Anne, that's too funny. My daughter is so schedule this summer she's not going to have time to breathe.

Hahaha...sounds like you need a cone of silence!

Annette, I found high school graduation one long, stressful month. From the clothes shopping, limo renting, flower ordering to the actual prom night.

Cat, when my girls were smaller and I had control of their time - I had them in summer camp, sports, and of course they spent 4 or 5 weeks with their father.

Kelly, I think I'll be spending a lot of time at Starbucks or the library, writing.
