Monday, Monday....

This is the crab apple tree in my front yard. It's beautiful when in bloom but we're headed for a windy night so the blossoms will be all over the yard by tomorrow. It will also need to be trimmed back this year because it's getting very close to the power line.

I managed to get the lawn mowed, back and front, yesterday so that's one less chore I have to do this week.

On the writing front this week I'm using the wonderful feedback I received from my published friend last week to do some tweaking of my first thirty pages and rewriting the synopsis. She had such fabulous suggestions to add depth to my story and to use the themes in my book to make the synopsis reflect my voice. I hope I can internalize her suggestions so I can incorporate that kind of rich texture in my next story. I'd like to be able to see all these things in my own writing on the first or second draft.

On the health/weight front, I've lost 10 lbs in the last six weeks and my blood pressure has gone back down to the normal range. Yeah! No medication. Now, I'm focused on getting another 10lbs off, to get my BMI down to a healthy 25. I'm going to step up the exercise so the weight loss rate continues and doesn't slow up.

My bad hip feels great, the weight loss and exercise has actually helped.

Good for you!! It's always better if we can manage our health without medication. I need to start eating better, starting with those fancy coffees I buy all the time!

Sounds like you got lots of valuable input into your manuscript/synopsis. Hope the final revisions go well so you can send it off. I'm predicting good things for this manuscript. :-)

Your tree is lovely, so I hope the wind doesn't blow all the blossoms away!

Congratulations on the weight loss, Anne! I too need to make some changes so the scales stop going in the wrong direction. It's summer, I need to get out more. :)

Glad to hear the BP is down and congrats on the 10lbs!

The tree looks lovely - did it survive the rain/wind of the past few days?

"The weight loss and exercise has actually helped." LOL!! Are you sure you don't want to write comedy?

Your flowering crab tree is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Good to hear about your MS. It'll be fantastic!

Kelly, the tree survived the rain storm pretty well.
